Young people encouraged to get creative with 'Grow Wild' funding

Posted on: Tuesday 12 February 2019

Young people aged 14-25 across the country are being given the chance to apply for £500 to lead a project that celebrates UK native wildflowers and fungi in exciting and engaging ways.

The project and funding is provided by Grow Wild, a national outreach initiative part of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and supported by the Big Lottery Fund and through private and public contributions.

Grow Wild funding also aims to help young people to improve their CV or personal statement, make connections with their community, develop new skills and help raise awareness of nature.

The projects helps to improve the environment and people’s wellbeing by encouraging them to be active, take notice of what’s around them, learn new things, and give back to their community.

A panel of young people from across the UK will meet at each point to decide which projects to fund.

All applications must be submitted by midday on Monday 1 April 2019
