Remembrance Sunday parades and services - 11.11.18

10.40 -  Parade from the Top Car Park, marching via Broad Street and Ivor Street to the Cenotaph.

11.00  -  Wreath laying and service at the Cenotaph, followed by a service in St Peter’s Church.


10.10 -  Parade assembles at car park at the rear of The Council House, Ventnor Road.

10.25 -  The Parade will leave the car park (Ventnor Road exit) and turn right onto Victoria Street moving towards St Gabriel’s Church. The parade will then turn up Wesley Street to head for Cwmbran Park, halting in Henllys Way. The Parade will fall out for marchers to enter the park for the service and wreath laying ceremony.

11.15 -  The Parade will re-form in Henllys Way, heading to St Gabriel’s Church via Wesley Street.

New Inn

10.00 -  Parade assembles at St Mary’s Church Hall, The Highway, New Inn.

10.10 -  Parade moves off to St Mary’s Church.

10.30 -  Church Service at St Mary’s.

11.20 -  Parade returns to St Mary’s Church Hall.


10.15 -  Parade assembles.

10.30 -  Parade from Pontnewydd Royal British Legion Club, Station Road, Pontnewydd for wreath laying ceremony and service at the Cenotaph.  A two-minute silence will be observed at 11.00am.     


11.45 -  Parade assembles on Commercial Street, Pontypool Town Centre.

12.00 -  Parade moves from assembly point to Memorial Gates, Pontypool for service and wreath laying ceremony; return via Clarence Roundabout.


Abersychan (Garn Wen Mountain)

9.30 -  For those wishing to walk to Garn Wen, meet at Waterworks Lane Bridge.

11.00 -  A short service of Remembrance will take place at the stone commemorating the Blenheim Bomber crash in 1940 on Garn Wen above Abersychan.

A wreath will be laid and a two minute silence will be observed.


3.00  -  Service at Henllys Village Hall.


10.30 -  Service at St Hilda’s Church conducted by Reverend Anne Golledge (Vicar of Griffithstown).

11.45 -  Wreath laying at Panteg Cemetery (Reverend Anne Golledge will officiate).


10.45   -  Service and wreath laying at St Cadoc’s Church, Trevethin.


10.30   -  Service at Crane Street Baptist Church.

11.00   -  Mass at St Albans RC Church, George Street, Pontypool.
