The annual Mic Morris Torfaen 10k takes place on Sunday 16 September in aid of the Mic Morris Trust, a fund set up by Gwent Police and Torfaen Council to raise money to support young athletes in the borough.
Since it was set up in 1988 the trust has supported more than 300 young people to take their sports to the next level, with past grant recipients going on to compete in major events such as the Commonwealth Games and World Junior Track Cycling Championships.
This year will be the biggest event yet with 1,500 runners expected to take part and to ensure a successful event, the council needs the support of willing volunteers to assist in the following roles:
• Marshals to direct runners on the route
• Giving out water at the half way point
• Giving out water and goodie bags to race finishers
If you can spare a few hours on Sunday 16 September, between 8:30am until 12pm, then please contact Ben Jeffries on 01633 628961 or firstname.lastname@example.org
