The High Needs Support Service
The High Needs Support Service based at Ty Nant Ddu Resource Centre in Pontypool supports two specific groups:-
- People with profound and multiple learning disabilities
- People whose mood or behaviour might affect their ability to engage positively in activities
People with profound and multiple learning disabilities are offered a structured programme of activities including crafts, sensory cooking, touch screen sessions, relaxation and sensory gardening.
People with mood or behavioural difficulties receive one to one support to help them maintain concentration and control their mood and emotions so that they can get involved in the activities above. They also have the opportunity to take part in other community-based leisure activities.
Who is it for?
The service is for people with assessed eligible needs, particularly for those with profound disabilities or challenging behaviour.
