Torfaen has a diverse and interesting built and natural environment which provides a great setting for business activity and healthy living and Torfaen County Borough Council is keen to develop partnerships with businesses who may have shared interest in protecting and managing the environment.
The borough is unique, being located on the eastern edge of the former South Wales Coalfield and Monmouthshire and Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a diverse and accessible upland landscape, a scenic canal, wonderful parks, woodlands and the outstanding landscape of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site is recognised internationally. There are a number of strategically located enterprise hubs, industrial estates and a thriving business community set within the urban and the rural areas.
With opportunities for walking and cycling, many off road routes have recently been developed to allow easy access to town centres and areas of employment.
There are many opportunities to become involved in managing or supporting activities that protect and promote the landscape and its wide range of habitats and either as individual volunteers or as businesses.
