Sewing – Make your own Clothes

This is for learners who are confident in the use of a sewing machine and want to learn how to make clothes from commercial patterns.

Learners will bring their own patterns and materials to class and will be supported by the tutor to make their projects.

Learners will learn how to take accurate body measurements and to use these measurements with commercial patterns to make garments.

Learners will learn how to fit garments during the making process.

Regular demonstrations will be given by the tutor on standard sewing techniques, e.g. putting a zip in, buttonholes …..

Handouts will be provided where appropriate.
