All allotments sites in Torfaen are currently open. Please continue to observe Welsh Government advice on social distancing where practical and treat any publicly accessible surfaces as potential sources of infection.
Travel to and from the allotments is permitted. If any plot-holder is self-isolating due to a household member having symptoms then please do not visit the sites. Community or trading huts should remain closed unless social distancing guidance is followed. Any toilets found on site will remain closed for the time being.
Please note - Site inspections have recommenced and notices will go out to tenants who are not maintaining their plot to a reasonable standard. If, for any reason, a tenant is unable to maintain their plot then they should contact the site committee.

Funding available for grassroots sports clubs impacted by Covid-19
Sport Wales has just launched a £4m ‘Be Active Wales Fund’, made possible thanks to Welsh Government and repurposed money from the National Lottery.
Grassroots sports clubs in Torfaen are encouraged to apply for the new fund to help them survive the Covid-19 pandemic and prepare to restart activities safely.
Read the full £4m fund launched to save and rebuild community sport news article here.
All council-owned playgrounds are now open.
Public Rights of Way
Our Public Rights of Way network remains open, but this may change if areas are identified where groups of people are congregating and actively ignoring measures set out by the Government.
We’re asking everyone to stick to social distancing and use their local routes, rather then travel to the countryside unnecessarily.
All path closure notices will be published online and notices posted on site under The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Closure of Leisure Businesses, Footpaths and Access Land) (Wales) Regulations 2020.
Sports Development activities are running in according with Welsh Government and National Governing Body Regulations. For more information please contact the Sports Development team on 01633 628936.
