Sheltered/retirement housing schemes allow residents to live independently with the option of professional support at hand when required.
They are designed to accommodate elderly persons; however other people may be considered pending their requirements, for example in disabled people's accommodation.
A number of providers operate sheltered/retirement schemes in Torfaen including Bron Afon Community Housing , Melin Homes , Linc Cymru and Aelwyd Housing Association .
For more information contact the providers directly or visit Torfaen Homes .
All Bron Afon retirement housing applications are now made online through the Torfaen Homeseeker website.
This means you can view all homes that are available in the area and not just in retirement housing. The website is updated every week with the latest homes that are available to rent.
Please visit Torfaen Homes for more information or ring Marion Coop at Bron Afon on 01633 620181.
Extra care is similar to sheltered housing in that residents have their own front door and their own tenancy (or other type of tenure), but with an increased range of facilities on the premises, with scope to provide greater range of care and support.
Ty George Lansbury in Cwmbran is Torfaen’s first extra care facility.
For more information about Ty George Lansbury, please contact Joanne Newman at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Customer Care on 01495 762200 or visit Torfaen Homes.
