Gwent Needs Mapping Exercise
The Gwent Needs Mapping Exercise (GNME) informs the development of housing-related support services on a local and regional basis.
Supporting People teams across Gwent have worked together to develop a common way of collecting information about the support needs of vulnerable people. The Gwent Needs Mapping Exercise is a simple ‘tick box’ form, and is usually completed by a support worker with the service user present.
We encourage agencies and organisations that have contact with vulnerable groups to participate in this exercise to help us gain a thorough understanding of local needs.
All information collected via the GNME is anonymous and confidential. It will be used to determine the number of persons with support needs, the type of support needs and to gather information regarding unmet support needs.
If you would like more information about the needs mapping process or require more GNME forms or training please contact the Supporting People team.
Service User Involvement
We aim to ensure that vulnerable people in Torfaen have an opportunity to have their say about service provision and availability. We try to attend a variety of service user events and forums to speak directly and listen to the views of the people who use our services.
To ensure that we are able to hear the views of vulnerable groups in Torfaen and across Gwent, we are keen to develop relationships with a variety of organisations and agencies to ensure that service users are equally represented.
If your organisation or group would like to contribute to the development of this programme please contact the Supporting People Team.
