Forward Facing Improvement Plan
The Council’s Forward Facing Improvement Plan - Delivering Corporate Plan 3
Each year the council has a statutory duty to publish an annual forward facing improvement plan, which sets out the main short-term issues (improvement objectives) it wants to improve for people living and working in Torfaen during the year ahead. From 2017/18 this requirement will be met through the publication of a well-being statement as required by the Well-Being of Future Generations act 2015.
Currently, the council has linked its improvement objectives directly to its Corporate Plan 3. The council’s third Corporate Plan covers the period from 2016 to 2021 and sets out 3 priorities, A clean and green Torfaen, Raising educational attainment and Support for Torfaen’s most vulnerable residents. The council has adopted the 3 priorities agreed in CP3 as the council’s improvement objectives.
Activities to deliver these improvement objectives are published in the council’s annual forward facing improvement plans. These plans are seen as the mechanism for delivering the council’s Corporate Plan.
Progress against these activities is reported annually in the council’s performance assessment reports. These reports must be published each October and relate to the previous financial year.
Comments on the council’s improvement objectives are welcomed and can be sent in writing to the Improvement Team, Civic Centre, Pontypool, NP4 6YB or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
