Black Box Recycling Scheme

 

Description

The weekly black box collection is for all your household rubbish that can be recycled. Please separate each type of material into different plastic carrier bags and place inside your black box. Collections, in most instances, are the same day as your refuse collection.

  

Items that can be put in your black box for recycling are:

  • food tins and drink cans (please rinse)
    empty aerosols (no spray paint of industrial aerosols)
  • newspapers, magazines and junk mail 
  • envelopes
  • catalogues and telephone directories
  • glass jars and bottles
  • clothes, textiles and paired shoes
  • plastic bottles and plastic bags (no other plastic containers please)

Each type of item should be placed loose in the box and any extra materials should be placed in separate carrier bags and left beside or on top of the box. Alternatively we can provide you with an additional box.

  

Please put your box out by 7.30am on your day of collection, at the edge of your property making sure it does not block the pavement.

 

Nets

 

Nets are now available for you black recycling box. Simply pull it over the box to contain recyclables. Every resident is Torfaen can have one net free of charge. Additional nets will have to be paid for. Please phone 01495 766608 to request one.
