Assembly Member - Torfaen

 

Description

Torfaen County Borough is served by two Assembly Members, one for the Torfaen Constituency and one for the Monmouthshire Constituency. If you live in Croesyceiliog North, Croesyceiliog South, Llanyravon North or Llanyravon South Wards you will be represented by the Monmouthshire AM.

 

Lynne Neagle - Torfaen

 

Lynne Neagle was born in 1968 and was educated at Cyfarthfa High School in Merthyr Tydfil and Reading University where she studied French and Italian. She has held a number of posts in the voluntary sector with organisations such as Shelter Cymru, Mind and the CAB. She was Careers Development Officer with Voluntary Action Cardiff and she also worked for Glenys Kinnock MEP as a researcher. She was elected to the National Assembly in 1999.

 

Lynne Neagle is Chair of the Labour Group in the National Assembly, and she is a member of the Health & Social Services Committee, the Standards of Conduct Committee and a member of the South East Wales Regional Committee. She also chairs the All Party Group on Cancer in the Assembly. Her political interests include housing, health, social services and Europe. She is married to Huw Lewis, AM for Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney and they have a son born in June 2002.
