Graffiti Grotspots
Graffiti grotspots are being targeted in a special operation between Cwmbran police and Torfaen Community Safety Partnership.
Residents in Pontnewydd, Oakfield, Llantarnam and St Dials were delivered letters asking them to identify any problem areas and if they had any information on graffiti artists. Police and local Councillors then walked around the areas to decide on the worst spots to be tackled. The Partnership is working with the probation service and Torfaen Youth Offending Team who will soon be sent into the areas to do the clear up.
Operation Fend was also carried out over four nights and saw officers go on high visibility patrols in problem areas. It was a success and saw several arrests for public order and criminal damage
