You may be eligible for Home Energy Efficiency Scheme grants of up to £3600 funded by the Welsh Assembly Government to provide you with money towards making your home more energy efficient. Grants are available for improvements such as central heating, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, hot water tank insulation, draught proofing, low energy light bulbs, and even repairs to existing heating. Only certain households are eligible and applicants must be claiming certain benefits. Anyone aged over 60 who is not entitled to any benefits but has owned or leased their home for over 21 years may be entitled to up to £500 towards energy saving improvements.
