Adult Protection Co-ordinator

 

Salary

£32,436 - £37,543 (pay award pending)

 

Job Description

Torfaen Social Care and Housing Service is seeking to recruit a full-time Adult Protection Coordinator to take up the responsibility for the co-ordination, strategic planning and monitoring of adult protection work for Torfaen County Borough Council and partner agencies. You will be required:

 

* To improve the profile, co-ordination, investigation and recording of Adult abuse

 

* To develop the emphasis on multi agency/disciplinary working so that the allegations of abuse are properly investigated and responded to in a systematic way.

 

* To lead the development and implementation of a framework of policies, plans, services and procedures in relation to "In Safe Hands" guidance on the protection of vulnerable adults, ensuring that all policy development is informed by this area of work.

 

* To have lead responsibility for quality assurance systems, including monitoring and audit of the adult protection process, ensuring learning and best practice are integrated into departmental approaches

 

You will have an appropriate professional qualification e.g. Health, Social Care and relevant experience of working in a Social Care/Health environment, or similar in terms of Operational/service management, managing risk, practice or policy development and implementation across organisational/professional boundaries.

 

This service is currently being reviewed; future developments may include formal partnerships with Children’s Service and/ or neighbouring Local Authorities.
