Construction JobMatch was launched in 2005 to encourage and support the economically inactive back into work within the Construction industry. Major infrastructure improvements are planned throughout the Heads of the Valleys area in the next 10-15 years from road building to new health facilities, schools and housing. At the same time the area experiences high levels of economic inactivity and low rates of qualifications.
To ensure that the Heads of the Valleys area develops and maintains a skilled and motivated construction workforce, benefiting the industry, local people and the economy, all the public agencies involved in procuring construction projects in the Heads of the Valleys, Local Councils, NHS Wales, and the Welsh Assembly Government have come together to operate Construction JobMatch.
Construction JobMatch has recently transferred under the management of the DWP initiative (City Strategy Pathfinder) ‘JobMatch’ Project which was launched across the Heads of the Valley area in April 2007.
We are now looking to recruit a Charter Implementation Manager (East) to cover the East side of the Heads of the Valleys area covering Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen. The post holder will work closely with the Charter Implementation Manager (West) who has responsibility for Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr and Caerphilly.
To act as the primary interface between major construction projects, job and training placement organisations and beneficiary trainees in implementation of the support arrangements connected with the Heads of the Valleys Consortium Training Charter.
