Social Housing

Torfaen Council is no longer a social landlord and it does not own any council houses, flats or sheltered housing complexes.

In March 2008, the Council transferred all its housing stock, including sheltered housing, to Bron Afon Community Housing|. If you were a council tenant in Torfaen at the time of transfer, you automatically became a Bron Afon tenant.

Bron Afon is just one of the registered social landlords| in Torfaen. Melin Homes|, Charter Housing|, Hafod| and Linc Cymru| are the others.

The Council still has a crucial role to play in the housing arena, however, and has a statutory duty to help people who are either homeless or threatened with homelessness|.

Our housing officers will help you with any housing-related problems, including help to find accommodation.
