Homelessness

We will provide comprehensive housing advice to anyone who is either homeless or threatened with homelessness.

If your homelessness is not immediate, contact us and our homelessness team will work with you to try to prevent it from occurring.

If you are sleeping rough or find yourself without a permanent place to stay, or it is not safe for you to continue to live where you are currently are, contact our homelessness team for advice.

If you are already homeless, your situation will be assessed by our homelessness team. Depending on your circumstances and the reason for your homelessness, you may qualify for temporary accommodation.

Young people under the age of 18 will be referred to social care services in order to assess their specific needs and requirements. Torfaen Young People’s Service (TYPSS) can offer help and support for young people aged 16 and 17.

All assessments for housing are carried out in line with current housing legislation as set out by the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Act 2002.

For emergencies, please contact the out of hours service on 01495 762200.
