Tenants Garden Competition
In 2006, Torfaen Tenants ran the 6th Annual Gardening Competition.
The event was held over the last week of July and the first week of August and was bigger and better then ever!

Tenants were invited to enter their gardens into 6 different categories for both North and South of the borough.
Categories included:

Class 1 - Best Back garden

Class 2 - Best Front garden

Class 3 - Best Vegetable garden

Class 4 - Best Sheltered housing garden

Class 5 - Best Pots and Containers

Class 6 - New Tallest Sunflower
As in previous years, categories were judged on:

Imagination
Prizes of £50 garden vouchers were presented for each of the categories. In addition a prize of £100 was made to the overall winner considered to have the most attractive garden.
To encourage tenants to compost at home, Torfaen Operational Services kindly donated a 220 litre compost bin to the winner of each category (5 in total).
A presentation evening, complete with disco, buffet and raffle, was held at the RAFA Club in Cwmbran to celebrate and honour the winners.
