How to apply

Help2Own is a low cost home ownership scheme, which enables people currently priced out of the housing market to own a home of their own.

 

Help2Own is administered by Torfaen’s Housing Strategy and Enabling team which deals with all initial applications and manages the waiting list.

 

You may be eligible to take part in Help2Own if:

  • You are struggling to buy on the open market
  • You are a first time buyer
  • You have a connection with Torfaen
  • You are able to obtain a mortgage

If you fulfil the above criteria, download an application form| and an equalities monitoring form|, fill them out and return to:

What happens next?

 

When we receive your application form, you will receive a unique registration number and you will be added to the waiting list.

 

When new properties/money becomes available, those at the top of the waiting list will be contacted by the relevant Housing Association. At this stage, you will be asked to undergo a full financial appraisal to confirm that you are eligible for Help2Own.
