Torfaen Volunteering Scheme

We don’t want your money. Just go shopping, enjoy a coffee/meal, go to the pub or enjoy leisure activities and make friends with someone who needs you.

People living in Torfaen with a learning/physical disability, mental health issue, sensory impairment and older people would be delighted if you would accompany them on activities and outings, or just befriend them in their own home for as little as one hour per week.

Volcare Scheme

This offers home-based support or respite care to carers across Torfaen. Volunteers provide support to older persons, individuals who are vulnerable and have specific disabilities or mental health issues. The support takes place either in the service user’s home or within the community. The length of the respite care can be short or long term (however, usually the period of respite is a few hours).

We are always looking for new volunteers so if you have time on your hands and are interested in developing new skills and meeting new people why not find out more?

Volunteers on both schemes receive training and on-going supervision, and all out-of-pocket expenses are covered.

For further information about our volunteering opportunities, please contact the Community Intervention Team on 01633 648838.
