The High Needs Support Service
The High Needs Support Service based at Ty Nant Ddu Resource Centre in Pontypool targets two specific groups:
-
People with learning disabilities
-
People whose mood or behaviour might affect their ability to engage positively in activities
People with learning disabilities are offered a structured programme of activities including crafts, sensory cooking, touch screen computer sessions, relaxation and sensory gardening.
People with mood or behavioural difficulties receive one to one support to help them maintain concentration and control their mood and emotions so that they can get involved in the activities above. They also have the opportunity to take part in other community-based leisure activities.
Who is it for?
The service is for people aged between 18 and 65 with learning disabilities or behavioural difficulties. People may attend for up to five days a week depending on their assessed needs. Transport is available.
