Farm Friends

Farm Friends is an employment training scheme based at Greenmeadow Community Farm which offers trainees the chance to work directly with animals on a working farm. Trainees learn about animal husbandry, ground maintenance, farm management, health and safety, customer services and team working.

Farm Friends concentrates on developing work skills to help trainees enter the job market, with or without continued support. It is designed to build trainees’ confidence and social skills through interaction with the public.

Who is it for?

Farm Friends will appeal to people aged between 18 and 65 who have learning or physical disabilities or have mental health needs. Trainees may attend for up to five days a week depending on their assessed needs.
