Canalside Bistro
The Canalside Bistro is an employment training scheme based in a real café environment. Trainees learn about food preparation and cooking, menu planning, customer service and money management. They receive training in food hygiene and can work towards an accredited qualification.
The Bistro is a comfortable modern café setting which provides snacks and hot and cold drinks to staff and members of the public attending the centre.
The project concentrates on developing work skills to help trainees enter the job market, with or without continued support.
Who is it for?
The service is for people aged between 18 and 65 with learning or physical disabilities or mental health needs. People may attend for up to five days a week depending on their assessed needs. Transport is available.
