Residential Care Homes

Residential care is provided for people who are not able to continue living in their own homes. The aim of this service is to help people to keep as active and independent as possible. It also provides care and support for vulnerable older people.

Residential care may be provided by Social Services or by voluntary organisations, independent and private companies working in partnership with us.

Torfaen’s Social Services aim to provide care for each service user whilst respecting their rights as a unique individual. Every service user has a statement of need from which the individual's care plan is written. Care plans are regularly reviewed and updated ensuring the needs of the service user are being met and how they are being met.

Lists of residential care homes can be obtained from Social Services.
