Services for older people

Welcome to the services for older people area of the website.

Here you will find information on a variety of topics including meals on wheels, nursing and residential care, personal care and help for vulnerable adults.

Spotlight On

Meals on Wheels|

If you live alone and are unable to cook for yourself you may be eligible to receive meals on wheels. You could also have a short-term need, for example if you have been in hospital recently, or if a hot meal would assist your carers.

Nursing Care|

Nursing homes provide 24 hour nursing care by qualified nurses and other carers.  If you are assessed by Social Services as needing nursing care they will help you to find a suitable nursing home.

Residential Care|

Residential care is provided for people who are not able to continue living in their own homes. The aim of this service is to help people to keep as active and independent as possible.

Vulnerable Adults|

A vulnerable adult is a person over 18 who may be unable to take care of him or herself, or is unable to protect him or herself from significant harm or serious exploitation.
