Young people across Torfaen aged between 11 and 25 years old have been consulted regarding the issues that affect them, their friends and family’s health social care & well-being.
As part of the consultation process, the young people were invited to write an anonymous letter to a virtual agony aunt and over 800 letters were received. The letters have been used to produce a glossy teen style magazine called “SPK OUT” with the young peoples letters being answered by an expert in the appropriate field.
All of the answers are factual and informative to help signpost young people to professional help should they find themselves in the same situation. Also included in the magazine are interviews from sports stars Rhys Williams and Jo Draper along with a quote on healthy eating by Jamie Oliver.
The magazines have been distributed to secondary schools across the borough and are available via libraries and youth centres. Alternatively you can download a copy of the SPK Out magazine| here.
