Torfaen County Borough Council provides a wide range of services to help make Torfaen Cleaner and Greener. We are working closely with the community, voluntary and private sector to deliver services to help you manage your rubbish in a greener way!

Why?
Rubbish from our bins gets buried in landfill sites. As a result we will run out of space for our rubbish in less than 10 years. We therefore have to pay for every tonne of waste going to landfill which has major cost implications for Torfaen Council and other Local Authorities.

How?
Loose Fruit and VegetablesReduce - avoid creating the waste in the first place, think before you buy! Next time you go shopping why not try to buy loose fruit and vegetables or buy items in bulk rather than individually wrapped items.
Unwanted books and toys being recycledReuse - use something again instead of throwing it away or pass it on to someone else! There are a number of charity shops and not-for-profit organisations in the area who would welcome your donation.
Children Recycling
Recycle - separate your waste so that it can be used to make new materials by using the Black Box| for your recycling and the Twin Bin| for your garden and kitchen waste.
