Spotlight On

Five Locks Canal, Cwmbran
In 1949 an area of 31,000 acres surrounding the village of Cwmbran was designated the first new town in Wales. Now more than 50 years on, parts of the town are in need of renovation. 
 
 
Eco-Building in Cwmbran
Torfaen County Borough Council has piloted a very unusual building on one of its industrial estates.  Constructed from timber and insulated using local straw bales, the building is designed to have minimal environmental impact.
 
 
Pontypool Town Centre
The Pontypool Regeneration Team is responsible for promoting and supporting the attractiveness of Pontypool Town Centre. The Team develop, manage and implement a wide range of regeneration projects in the Pontypool area.
 
 
Torfaen Regeneration Strategy

Torfaen Council has a 15 year Regeneration Strategy which outlines the Council’s aims to build and strengthen areas in the Borough of Torfaen. You can find out detailed information on the strategy in this area of the site.
