Voluntary Sector Subgroup

The Subgroup acts as an advisory voice and communication channel for the voluntary sector. It aims to improve understanding of the culture and value of the sector within Torfaen and encourage leadership and energy from within its local communities. Activities include:

• Research to improve access and learning progression
• Championing training to enhance community development
• Identifying strategies to promote active citizenship
• Accessing resources to support voluntary sector delivery of learning
• Contributing to the take-up of childcare
• Contributing to the improvement of basic skills
