Torfaen CCET
The Torfaen Community Consortium for Education and Training (CCET) is a partnership of key local agencies, including employer representatives, responsible for identifying needs for training services in the area and facilitating their development. Torfaen's CCET is a voluntary local grouping of education and training providers who collaborate in the delivery of provision. The Consortium builds on the work of a previous forum, LATETE (Local Authority of Torfaen Education, Training and Employment), formed in 1998. The main product of a CCET is to draw up annual recommendations to Department of Education and Lifelong Learning (DELLS). There are three subgroups
14-19 Subgroup: Which develops strategies that support the vision of the CCET as they apply to the 14-19 age group, including widening choice available to 16 year olds, and monitoring progression into HE and achievement of higher level qualifications.
Voluntary Sector Subgroup: The Subgroup acts as an advisory voice and communication channel for the voluntary sector. It aims to improve understanding of the culture and value of the sector within Torfaen and encourage leadership and energy from within its local communities.
RISE Project Management Subgroup: The principal purpose is to steer the project to ensure that the project meets its aims and objectives of the development of a learning network consisting of over thirty centres and developing a learning culture to hear the ‘Learners’ Voice’, share resources and good practice.
