Why don’t I get credits for everything I attend out of school hours?
If you attend a club or organisation where you are not receiving CU credits, then the organisation that provides the activity can register with the Children’s University. Please ask your activity tutor to contact us. Details are provided at the bottom of the page.
How soon will it be before I gain a certificate?

If you are in Years 1 to 3 you will need 50 hours participation to gain the bronze award

If you are in Years 4 to 8 you will need 100 hours participation to gain the bronze award

If you are in Years 9 to 13 you will need 150 hours participation to gain the bronze award
How much does it cost?
The Education Department does not charge anything to join and the credit statements and certificates are free, however you may be charged to take part in the activity. You will need to check with your activity tutor.
How do I become a provider?

Are there any costs associated with becoming a provider?
There are no costs to schools or other organisations in becoming a registered Children’s University provider. All leaflets, certificates and other materials are provided free of charge by the Education Department.
Is there any extra work associated with becoming a provider?
There is a small amount of time needed to complete the Module Proposal forms (guidance can be provided) and in returning the registers at the end of modules, but no other time is required to actively take part.
