Philip Nash, Assistant Chief Executive/Strategic Director Performance and EngagementThe Assistant Chief Executive/Strategic Director Performance and Engagement is Philip Nash.

 

Philip's role is more inwardly focused on the performance and organisational development of the Council. This post is the major driver in the Council’s commitment to move from good to excellent.

 

The key roles of the post are:

  • Continuing to develop and deliver the Council’s Corporate Plan in partnership with elected members
  • Putting in place rigorous and challenging measures to address under performance and working with Chief Officers to achieve performance and efficiency targets including service intervention where necessary
  • Strengthening and developing service standards in terms of performance, customer satisfaction and propriety
  • Leading the Council’s democratic, scrutiny and member services
  • Taking forward the Council’s customer focus strategy and leading the Council’s customer services teams.
  • Developing the citizen engagement agenda to ensure that the Council is fully attuned to the voice of its communities
  • Developing the Council’s strategic approach to information
  • Developing and implementing an effective strategy that shapes the Council’s approach to its external and internal communications, and leading the Council’s Communications team
  • Leading the Council’s Research Unit as a resource for members and officers and ensuring that all policy decisions are informed by relevant, up-to-date research and analysis
  • Leading a team of policy officers as a resource for the strategic management team to support most effectively the processes of strategic change and organisational development
