Deputy Chief Executive/Strategic Director Communities

The Deputy Chief Executive/Strategic Director Communities is Paul Matthews.

 

Paul is the designated lead for the Council in the following areas: 

• Increasing the supply of affordable housing and tackling the problems of homelessness

• Creating a sustainable approach to waste management that contributes positively to the ecological health of the area

• Regenerating local communities through:

          -   maximising the skills and potential of local people
          -   building capacity within communities
          -   stimulating the economic development of Torfaen
          -   seizing all opportunities to attract private sector and other

              external funding to improve and rejuvenate the built

              environment in accordance with the Council’s priorities

 

 

Paul acts as 'Head of Paid Service' in the absence of the Chief Executive.
