The electoral register is the list of everyone who is registered to vote in a council area. You must be on the electoral register to vote at elections, and not being on the register can also affect your credit rating.

You can vote at elections only if your name appears on the electoral register and you are eligible to vote at the election taking place. You can vote in person at a polling station, by post or by proxy.
