Fayre to raise autism awareness

An autism awareness fayre will be held at the Power Station, Blenheim Road, Cwmbran on Thursday 15 April.

The event will raise awareness of autism and the range of services supporting families affected by autism within Torfaen. It will be open to professionals between 10.30am-12.30pm and parents from 1pm-3pm.

The executive member for children and young people, councillor Mary Barnett, said: "This is a great opportunity for families and the professionals supporting them to come together in one place.

"They will be able to find out what's happening within Torfaen and how they can access services, as well as influence the future of autism services.

"Effective joint working across all agencies ensures people with a diagnosed autistic spectrum disorder benefit from services and support throughout their lives."

In Torfaen, there are a number of statutory and voluntary organisations that support individuals and families affected by an autistic spectrum disorder.
