Neighbourhood police officers from Pontypool are making links with the community by setting up shop at Pontypool Park.
Two officers are now based at the Grandstand and are looking forward to getting to know local residents.
PC Claire Maddox, neighbourhood officer for the area, explained: "Pontypool Park is a great facility, right in the heart of the community, so it makes perfect sense for us to be based with the people we serve.
"It's great to see local residents out and about enjoying the scenery and we hope that our presence at the park provides visitors with the reassuring knowledge that Pontypool is a really safe place to live and work."
PCSO Hayley Fairclough added: "We're now holding regular surgeries at the Park Grandstand, so drop in if you have any issues that you would like to discuss. Our next surgery is on Saturday 10 August at 10.30am, so please feel free to come along."
The executive member for housing, planning and public protection, councillor Gwyneira Clark, said: "This is a wonderful example of partnership working between the council and the police.
"By sharing resources in this manner, we are helping to ensure we get the most out of our facilities and the best possible value for money.
"I am sure the visible presence of these police officers within the park will make residents and visitors feel even safer and would encourage anyone who does have any concerns to contact them."
