Recycle your real Christmas trees

Residents are being urged to recycle their real Christmas trees.

Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran is asking people to donate their trees, without their decorations, for chipping.

The recycled waste will be used on footpaths and to help drainage in flowerbeds.

Trees can be left at the collection point in the farm's car park until the end of January.

Torfaen Councillor John Cunningham, Executive Member for Operational Services, said: "Recycling real Christmas trees is a good way of helping to minimise the amount of waste dumped in landfill."

Torfaen Council currently recycles 45 per cent of its waste- the best performing local authority in South Wales.
