You can now learn more about the heroic work of Torfaen Council's recycling mascot Dan Can the Super Recycler by following him on the social messaging website Twitter.
Dan is writing regular tweets giving more information about his efforts to help people recycle.
He will also reveal amazing details about his sidekick Billy Bottle, love interest Candy Carton and arch enemies Plastic Bagator and Battery Acid Bob.
Christina Harrhy, the Council's Head of Technical Services and Performance, said: "Dan is popular with residents of all ages. Because of his success we are giving people a chance to follow him on Twitter.
"There will be regular updates revealing more about Dan's life as a super hero as well as information about recycling.
"By embracing this popular way of sending out messages, we hope Dan will have even more of a following."
Over the coming weeks, Dan will also write tweets about how Torfaen residents can join forces with him to promote green issues.
The Council's new campaign, are you a recycling super hero, is appealing for people of all ages to help Dan champion recycling.
Three successful candidates, who will win some top prizes, must be willing to take part in promotional events.
They will also appear in a cartoon strip with the super recycler.
Since his launch, just over a year ago, Dan Can has proved a massive success by helping Torfaen become the best recycling authority in South Wales- recycling 42 per cent of its waste.
The mascot and his slogan, recycle- if Dan Can you can, now feature on the Council website, leaflets and on the back of recycling lorries.
Last year he also won a Chartered Institute of Marketing award for the way he gets residents recycling.
