Do you love recycling in Torfaen and want to make a difference in the area you live? If the answer is yes you could become a new recycling super hero.
Torfaen Council is on the look out for new heroes to use powers of persuasion to promote green issues in area they live.
They will also be able to join forces with the local authority's recycling mascot Dan Can the Super Recycler.
The Council wants to hear from people of all ages who live in Torfaen and are keen recyclers.
Anyone interested can fill in a form in the April edition of Torfaen Talks, complete an online form by visiting the Rubbish Waste and Recycling| area of the website or by giving details over the phone by contacting 01495 766608.
Three successful candidates, who will be chosen by the waste team, must be willing to spread the word about recycling and take part in promotional events.
In turn they will be given a family ticket to Techniquest in Cardiff, a special t-shirt to wear when championing the cause and a compost bin.
The heroes will also appear in a cartoon strip that will be published on the Council's website and in Torfaen Talks.
Waste Manager Cynon Edwards said: "We want to hear from people of all ages who love recycling in Torfaen. This is a super opportunity for people to join us and make a real difference by showing others how easy it is to recycle."
Councillor John Cunningham, Executive Member for Operational Services, added: "Dan Can has been a massive success since he was launched a year ago and we now want him to join forces with local residents who have already made a massive difference to recycling in the area.
"I'm urging anyone who is fanatical about recycling and green issues to give us a call for a chance to become a local hero."
Last year the recycling mascot overcame stiff opposition to win a Chartered Institute of Marketing Award.
Dan Can has helped Torfaen become the best recycling authority in South Wales- recycling 42 per cent of its waste.
