A five-foot high windmill is among sculptures made out of old rubbish on display at a Torfaen school.
Pupils at Henllys Church in Wales Primary School in Cwmbran were tasked with making sculptures with an eco theme over the Christmas break.
On Friday the final sculptures, made out of materials like wrapping paper and cardboard, were brought into class for judging.
As well as the windmill, a giant bus and water funnel are among more than 20 pieces of work.
Year four teacher Louise Sulway said: "The work is really impressive – there are some really imaginative designs on display.
"Pupils are really enthusiastic about eco activities and recycling in Torfaen. They learn about all sorts things including Dan Can, the Super Recycler – Torfaen Council’s recycling mascot."
As well as green issues, the school, which is now aiming for the silver award in the Eco Schools scheme, has weekly activities focusing on global citizenship.
"Every Friday pupils learn about a different country," said Mrs Sulway. "They eat food and listen to music associated with the country and look at photographs of major landmarks."
Councillor John Cunningham, Executive Member for Operational Services, added: "Children in Torfaen as so enthusiastic about green issues and this is a fine example of the good work they are doing."
