The final phase of Torfaen's Twin Bin scheme is scheduled to start on Monday February 23rd, the local authority has announced.
Torfaen Council says it is due to add around 7,000 more residents to the scheme where recycling is collected every week and garden and food waste and non-recyclable rubbish are collected on alternate weeks.
The latest roll-out will cover Blaenavon, Abersychan, Pontnewynydd and Snatchwood.
After the roll-out, more than 38,000 residents will be on the scheme which already covers areas like, Ponthir, Sebastopol, Croesyceiliog, Upper Cwmbran and Fairwater.
The council hit a 42 per cent recycling rate last year making it the best performing authority in South Wales.
This is already two per cent more than the Welsh Assembly 2009-10 target.
Councillor John Cunningham, Executive Member for Operational Services, said: "Our success is down to residents' enthusiasm for recycling - and I can't thank them enough for their support.
"I'm confident that our recycling rate will continue to increase, particularly now more residents are due to be added to the scheme."
Letters about the scheme have already been delivered to residents and a booklet giving more details is currently being delivered together with new green bins, kitchen caddies and black boxes.
Residents are also due to receive a third letter confirming the scheme's start date.
