Street cleansing is carried out on a fortnightly basis in this ward, the carriageways are mechanically swept once a month and all local shopping centres are cleansed on a daily basis, refuse collection takes place on a Friday

There is a recycling area in Two Locks Road Car Park for shoes and paper

Age Structure; 23.3% aged between 0-15, 41.1% aged between 16-44, 21.7% aged 45-59/64 and 13.9% of pensionable age.

Unemployment (2004)

 

Whilst unemployment in the area has declined significantly, 57 people remain registered unemployed, 38 males and 19 females (July 2004). Of the 57 claimants, 20 are under 24 years of age. No-one is registered as long term unemployed (unemployed for over 52 weeks).

 

Home Ownership (2001)

 

Two Locks has a higher proportion of owner occupied households at 70.7% than Torfaen (68.3%) (Wales 71.3%). 20.0% of properties are rented from the local authority (Torfaen 22.8%, Wales 13.7%)

 

Car Ownership (2001)

 

21.0% of households in Two Locks do not own a car (Torfaen 27.2%, Wales 26.0%).
