Street cleansing is carried out on a fortnightly basis in this ward, the carriageways are mechanically swept once a month and all local shopping centres are cleansed on a daily basis, refuse collection takes place on a Wednesday

Whilst unemployment in the area has declined significantly and only 12 people remain registered unemployed, 8 males and 4 females (June 2004). Of the 12 claimants, 5 are under 24 years of age. There is no-one registered as long term unemployed (unemployed for over 52 weeks).
