Emergency Management Team
The Torfaen Emergency Management Team is part of the Resources Directorate and is located within the Strategic Human Resources Division based in the Civic Centre, Pontypool.
The team is made up of three specifically trained individuals and consists of the Head of Corporate Risk & Emergency Management, the Emergency Management Officer and the Emergency Management Assistant. The team is fully supported at Strategic Director and Chief Officer level by the Corporate Director of Resources and the Head of Strategic HR. The Executive Member, Resources, plays an essential part in the decision making process that ensures Torfaen can respond effectively to emergencies and disruptions.
The team are members of various professional organisations that include, Emergency Planning Society| (EPS), Business Continuity Institute| (BCI), and the Association of Local Authority Risk Managers| (ALARM).
The Torfaen Emergency Management team works closely with other local authorities, emergency services, utility companies and voluntary organisations to ensure the provision of effective and efficient arrangements to protect communities and the environment within Torfaen prior to, during and after emergencies.
