At Work or Travelling

In the Workplace

Take time to Familiarise yourself with any fire & health and safety procedures and documentation available in your place of work.

Make sure that you know where the fire exits are and where the evacuation points are located in case of a fire alarm.

Ensure all new staff and visitors to the premises are also made aware of these procedures.

Whilst travelling or in the car

Always check travel reports if you are likely to be travelling during periods of severe weather and take any advice given by local TV or radio reports.

It is always a good idea to carry with you a torch, bottled water, First Aid kit, sweets or snacks, and a mobile phone.

If you are travelling in the car when snow or icy weather is forecast consider taking the following:

  • Warm clothing and waterproof coat
  • Boots
  • Shovel
  • Flask with a hot drink
